This comprehensive document governs your access to and use of OpenTrouter's API, computational resources, and associated software services. Please read these terms carefully before proceeding.
1. Provider Usage Policy
By accessing or using the OpenTrouter API, you agree to comply with this Provider Usage Policy. Our goal is to ensure a stable, secure, and equitable environment for all developers and enterprises building on our platform. Usage of our models implies acceptance of the underlying vendor terms where applicable, as well as OpenTrouter's specific aggregation policies.
1.1 Acceptable Use
You may not use OpenTrouter to generate content that violates applicable laws, including but not limited to the generation of CSAM, non-consensual sexual content, or content that promotes self-harm or violence. We employ automated classification systems to detect patterns of abuse. Repeated violations will result in immediate API key revocation.
1.2 API Rate Limits
To prevent abuse and ensure service availability, we enforce rate limits (In the future) on a per-model basis. Standard tier accounts are limited to 50 requests per minute (RPM). Enterprise tiers may negotiate custom limits. Please refer to your dashboard for your specifc quota usage.

Child Safety Standards
OpenTrouter is deeply committed to protecting the safety of minors online. We employ rigorous, multi-layered safety systems designed to detect and block content that could be harmful to children. This includes, but is not limited to, strict filters against sexually explicit material, self-harm promotion, and predatory behavior. Any attempt to generate CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) is immediately blocked, flagged, and reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in compliance with U.S. federal law and international standards.
Age Group & Eligibility
Minimum Age Requirement: OpenTrouter is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age.
For users between the ages of 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), we require that you review these Terms with a parent or legal guardian to ensure that both you and your parent or guardian understand and agree to them. Certain unrestricted models may strictly require users to be 18 years of age or older to access their capabilities. We reserve the right to verify age and terminate accounts that do not meet these eligibility criteria.
Privacy & Data Usage
Your privacy is paramount. We maintain an unwavering commitment to data security, transparency, and strict non-training policies to ensure your intellectual property remains yours.
Do we allow models to train from your messages?
Absolutely not. We maintain a strict zero-retention policy for training purposes. Data transmitted through OpenTrouter is ephemeral and is used solely for the purpose of generating a response.
Regulatory Compliance
We operate in strict accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for our European users and the CCPA for our California-based users. All data processing occurs in secure, encrypted enclaves. We do not sell, trade, or analyze your prompt data to improve foundational models.
